Dr Andrew Stone BVSc.

Veterinary Surgeon

Dr Andrew is a local Maudsland resident who has been a Veterinarian for over 20 years.  Originally from Darwin, Dr Andrew moved to the Gold Coast in the early 90's and finished high school at Coombabah High School before studying Veterinary Science in Brisbane at the University of Queensland.

After graduating in 2000 Dr Andrew worked in mixed and small animal practice for four years, first in Maleny then Beenleigh, before heading off on a working holiday to the UK.  Dr Andrew thrived in the busy small animal practices he worked in while in the UK and the planned 18 month working holiday turned into just over 6 years of time in the UK.  It was while in the UK that he met his wife Sarah, and they had their first child Ethan.

After returning to the Gold Coast in early 2011 Dr Andrew started working in Upper Coomera, and he has been working in Upper Coomera and Maudsland since.  In 2012 he was appointed to manage and run a surgery in Upper Coomera, which he then purchased in 2014.  When the opportunity arose to setup a clinic in Maudsland Dr Andrew didn't hesitate and with lots of hard work Maudsland Veterinary Surgery went from an empty shell to a fully operation Veterinary Surgery in the space of just 4 months - opening in early March 2016.  In August 2019 Dr Andrew decided to focus solely on his Maudsland Surgery and now just works here, providing care to the animals of the northern Gold Coast hinterland and beyond.

Dr Andrew currently has a lovely burmilla cat Willow, as well as Discus and numerous other fish in his aquarium.  He has also had a second child since moving back to Australia, his beautiful daughter Imogen.  Once life settles down a bit Dr Andrew plans to get a family dog, he is just waiting until he can devote enough time to it. As a true local resident and part of the local community, Dr Andrew is someone you can trust to look after your furry family members, be it when they are ill or to provide them with the preventative medicine they need to stop them getting sick.  Call in and meet him, he'd love to meet you.
